Bio

The skinny version: I’m a classy sassy entrepreneur, athlete, mentor and author. I love life, and live in New York with my husband.

The fat version: I have dedicated my life to personal excellence and creating change as an avid social entrepreneur, athlete, mentor, wife and friend. If I had my way, I would invite you over for tea, but time, energy and space don’t permit, so I’ve embraced social media. I’m the igniter of CrowdCause, a social enterprise designed to offer non-profits consistent funding using a daily deal platform. I also wear the hat of an Event Coordinator for Women Helping Girls, an organizational consultant, and free-lance writer.

I aim to engage in the activities I’m most passionate about. I’m involved in my church in the areas of music, youth, and serve as the Event and Ministry Coordinator. I spend a great deal of time mentoring girls in my church youth group, as well as mentoring Bhutanese refugees who are part of an organization designed to establish mentor-mentee relationships between women and inner city girls.

I like to think of my life as a party with lots of confetti! Confetti represents the random and eclectic experiences…

Confetti experiences: (some past, some present)

  • Mentor to Bhutanese refugees
  • A tail-less squirrel named “Scooter” (he lives outdoors in his natural habitat, but he’s around year after year so I’ve adopted him as a pet)
  • Travel throughout the United States and Canada
  • Traveled abroad to Ireland, England, and Haiti
  • Read hundreds of non-fiction books in the last few years (I did read 1 fiction book in the mix)
  • Helped build my parent’s 2-story home (this was not by choice, but came in handy when I took a job in the home-building industry years later)
  • Played the piano for a beauty pageant (I had a difficult time trying to figure out which genre to go with)
  • Event & Ministry Coordinator for my church
  • Water Skiied (slalom!) on the Erie Canal
  • Played on the boy’s tennis team in High School (I apologize to those I beat out for a spot)
  • Interned at the Ronald McDonald House, Rochester, New York
  • Taught a seminar to the faculty and staff of my high school as a student (Yes, my teachers sat in the back of the room and talked during this presentation)
  • Rock Climbed in the Adirondacks
  • Shared meals with natives from China, India, Germany, Jamaica, Russia, Ukraine, Botswana, Ireland, England, Haiti, & Bhutan
  • Slept under the stars (with a mattress of snow)
  • Rescued small woodland creatures (a baby possum was the most recent mission)
  • Author of Organize Shmorganize
  • Catalyst and igniter of CrowdCause Incorporated, a social enterprise designed to raise money for local charities.

That’s my journey so far…
