I’m not talking about writing a term paper. I’m talking about journaling.
Recently I needed a serious download of thoughts and decided to journal. When I finally came to some resolution and conclusions I was finishing out page 6, single-spaced, 11pt font.
One of the best playgrounds for clarity is writing. If our thoughts and emotions are whirling writing is a great way to process. It’s more effective than most any conversation we could have with a friend because we work through several layers deep of thoughts and feelings rather than just the first layer or two. Give it a try sometime. Write and write until there’s nothing more to say. Let your mind and fingers go wherever they want to take you. Write what comes and be patient as your mind works through things.
