Rehabilitation is restoring something to its original state.
Most rehab is frustrating. Remembering the original state of something (knee, shoulder etc.) and where it currently is can be disheartening. Rehab can feel slow. Most people don’t follow through with a full rehab regiment because it’s monotonous and annoying.
Rehab usually requires slow, refined movements.
We should apply this concept to spiritual, emotional or mental rehabilitation. It’s a lot of refined movements, repeated over and over again, slowly and deliberately.
