I tell my in-laws we’re having salt potatoes and they look at me with blank stares. How do they not know what these are? They’re the staple potatoes to have with BBQ and corn on the cob. Come on folks! Still nothing after several attempts to jog their memory. I move on to my brother and sister in-law. More blank stares. “I’ve never heard of those.” This isn’t some exotic prepared dish. These are as common to me as mashed potatoes and they have no clue what I’m talking about.
Thank you Google. Wouldn’t you know, they’re something from Syracuse, NY – near where I’m from and where I live…and far from their stomping grounds.
No, they don’t know what I’m talking about. But now they do. 😉
There’s a point when we don’t know what we’re talking about either, but get a little experience under our belt and now we’re the expert! Life is funny like that.
