Unlike every book, article and blog I ever read, my child doesn’t become narcoleptic in the car. A five hour trip might yield a 45 minute nap. Maybe.
She’s old enough now that we are starting to train her to help herself to sleep. You know the old, “close your eyes, lay your head back,” kind of talk. We’re not getting through yet, but it makes me feel better knowing we’re being proactive on some front.
Here’s what’s endearing about it all. She’d rather experience life than sleep. Would you?
Have you constructed your life so you’d rather be awake than asleep?
