Hurt is one of those things we desperately want to avoid. Because, well, it hurts.
Recently I had the mindfulness to remind myself that it was okay to feel hurt, and that running from it wasn’t going to make it any better. Feel this, Amy. Let it be okay that the emotion of hurt is here. Don’t run. Stay with this.
But MAN is that tough!
I have to tell you though, as soon as I decided to stay and let that feeling of hurt be something that was okay (accepting it for what it was), it left. As if it had a mind of its own and just wanted to be acknowledged. Once it got its due recognition, it was out the door.
